I moved to St. Paul 15 plus years ago because Minnesotans had and valued strong communities. My wife & I have raise two wonderful girls in a place that values tradition and culture.
I am a community organizer/advocate with degrees and work experience (Botanist, Urban Planner, and Educator) in ecology and urban planning, because I love communities that naturally work and foster the talents of their members. For me, these communities work to never waste a mind as the NAACP campaign in the 1970's promoted. As an Eastsider and organizer, I have helped or currently help Meal-on-Wheels (Food delivery with my infant/toddler girls), Chore Program (Handy work for Eastside seniors), District 5 Community Council (Board and CPED member, volunteer for projects), E-Democracy (Help Desk), Gateway Food Initiative (Board member), Duluth & Case Booster Club (Board and General member), Children's Garden (Manager), and Parks & Recreation (Youth Coach). Finally, I am primarily a substitute teacher, which affords many community empowerment opportunities.
Here are links to other questionnaires to several groups and media including SPACC, Pioneer Press, Star Tribune, Interview w/ David Rasmussen, Forward St. Paul, and Minnesota Daily. Here is the Pioneer Press article about the Ward 6 candidates.
As your representative, I will be very ACCESSIBLE to you by having regular office hours uptown on the Eastside instead of downtown and follow Saint Paul Strong principles. I hope to give back to YOUR HOME and OUR EASTSIDE.
